Providing a happy

and vibrant education

Caring and supportive

stimulating and structured environment

Nurturing the talents

and potential of each individual

English Martyrs’, formed in 1965, is a Catholic Voluntary Academy, part of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust, in the Diocese of Nottingham, and admits children between the ages of 4 and 11 years.

Our Vision

Our vision is to educate children in the spirit of the Gospel Values and the traditions of the Catholic Church, nurturing the talents and potential of each individual. Throughout the academic year our staff, pupils and parents live out our mission statement. This reflects our beliefs and ambitions and is at the heart of all we do.

We aim for every child to have a happy and vibrant education at English Martyrs’ one that is caring and supportive, working in a stimulating and structured environment, where all children are encouraged to reach their full potential. Each child is valued as a unique individual.

News from our Parishes

Fr Martin Sylvester has now moved from St Francis of Assisi parish, to support and serve the parishes in Glossop, and we would like to thank him for all his work.

This does mean there will be changes in two of our parishes. Fr Christopher Thomas, of Our Lady of the Assumption parish, will be taking over as parish priest at St Francis as well as still serving as parish priest at Beeston and therefore times of Mass will have to be changed to accommodate Fr Christopher in serving both parishes.

Saturday (Vigil) Mass from Saturday 26th January will be 4.30pm at Beeston and 6.30pm at Long Eaton.

Sunday Mass from Sunday 27th January will be 9.00am at Beeston and 11.00am at Long Eaton.
